What is an accessible web site?
A web site is accessible when any user, regardless of disability or the device being used, is able to access and effectively use the site. This includes, but is not limited to, the following scenarios:
- A visually impaired person who uses a screen reader to read the web site.
- A mobility impaired person who uses an alternative mouse.
- An executive accessing a bank account from a PDA.
- A hearing impaired person who cannot hear the audio from a video.
- A student with an older computer applying online to a university or college.
- A teenager looking for movie times on a cell phone.
